A Liverpool star will be sidelined for a month after sustaining a serious injury in the recent match against Tottenham.

Arne Slot has confirmed that Liverpool midfielder Tyler Morton has suffered an injury setback ahead of the team’s FA Cup fourth-round match against Plymouth Argyle on Sunday. The Reds’ manager addressed the media on Friday morning and explained that Morton, who was expected to feature, will now miss the game due to an injury.

Tyler Morton’s Injury Confirmed

Slot revealed that Morton, 22, will be sidelined for a while, with the midfielder’s spot now likely to be filled by James McConnell. When asked for further details, Slot confirmed that the injury is to Morton’s shoulder and that he will be out for at least four weeks or possibly longer.

A Setback at a Crucial Time

The injury comes as a blow for Morton, who was a strong candidate to start against Plymouth, particularly with Liverpool’s busy schedule. With the Carabao Cup final qualification leading to a rescheduled fixture against Aston Villa on 19 February, the Reds are set to face five Premier League matches in just 15 days. This would have been an ideal time for Morton to step up and contribute.

As it stands, Morton’s earliest return could be for the match against Southampton on 8 March, right before the Carabao Cup final. Slot’s comments underline Morton’s importance to the squad, and fans will be hoping for a swift recovery.
