However, after a lengthy VAR check, tensions soared when Everton midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure went to taunt the Liverpool supporters, triggering a heated response.
Liverpool’s Curtis Jones, visibly frustrated, shoved Doucoure, which led to a full-on brawl as players from both sides rushed to the scene. In the aftermath, both Doucoure and Jones were shown red cards by referee Michael Oliver.
