Liverpool star ‘tempted’ by move to European giants this summer in huge blow for Arne Slot

Liverpool could be dealt a huge blow this summer as one of the key members of Arne Slot’s side is reportedly ‘interested’ in a move to a European powerhouse.

Liverpool currently lead the Premier League by seven points over second-placed Arsenal as they push for their 20th English top-flight title under new manager Arne Slot. The Reds face Wolves at Anfield tomorrow, aiming to strengthen their position at the top.

Slot, who replaced Jürgen Klopp last summer, has guided Liverpool to the Champions League last 16 and the Carabao Cup final, making for a strong debut season. However, uncertainty looms over three key players whose contracts expire this summer.

Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose deal ends in June, has been heavily linked with Real Madrid. The right-back has been a key figure for Liverpool, scoring 21 goals in 342 appearances.

Virgil van Dijk, who joined from Southampton in 2018 for £75 million, is also out of contract soon. The Dutch center-back has been a defensive cornerstone for the club, netting 26 goals in 303 matches.

Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah’s future remains uncertain, with strong interest from the Saudi Pro League. Despite speculation, the Egyptian has had an outstanding season, scoring 27 goals in 35 games.

Liverpool’s title ambitions remain on track, but the club faces major decisions regarding its star players in the coming months.

Reports now suggest that another key Liverpool player could be on the move this summer.

According to ESPN, Paris Saint-Germain are targeting Ibrahima Konaté, with the French defender reportedly open to a transfer. PSG are looking for a center-back to partner with Marquinhos, and a move to the Parc des Princes would bring Konaté back to his hometown.

Konaté joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021 for £36 million and is under contract until 2026. Although the club has offered him a new deal, he has yet to sign.

The 25-year-old has made 116 appearances for Liverpool, scoring five goals, including two in 26 matches this season. During his time at Anfield, he has won the FA Cup and two League Cups while also earning 21 caps for France.

With PSG’s interest and Konaté’s apparent willingness to return to France, his future at Liverpool remains uncertain.
