It’s clear that Barcelona coach Hansi Flick sees reinforcing the full-back positions as a top priority for the summer transfer window. Despite strong performances from Jules Kounde and Alejandro Balde, neither has real competition, leaving Flick without reliable alternatives.
According to El Nacional, Flick has urged Joan Laporta and Deco to bring in reinforcements. On the left side, Gerard Martin has been given chances but hasn’t fully convinced the coach, which could lead to a loan or permanent transfer. Potential signings include Álvaro Carreras from Benfica and Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen. Additionally, La Masia talent Joffrey Torrents, who has impressed after recovering from a serious knee injury, may be given an opportunity in preseason.
On the right, Hector Fort appears likely to leave after limited opportunities, making a new signing almost inevitable. Possible targets include Marc Bubel from Almería and Vanderson from Monaco.
For now, Flick must rely on Balde and Kounde while hoping they remain injury-free as the season enters its crucial phase.
