Hansi Flick shows them the way out: Three Barcelona players are closer to leaving than staying

Barcelona remain in contention for the league title this season, but Hansi Flick is already planning for the future and preparing for the next campaign. As part of his plans, three players appear to be excluded from the team’s considerations.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, the German coach does not count on Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre, and Iñaki Peña, all of whom have lost their place in the squad and may be transferred during the summer window.

Ansu Fati, once seen as one of Barcelona’s biggest prospects, seems to be nearing the end of his time at the club. His loan spell at Brighton was hindered by injuries, and Flick has made it clear he is not part of next season’s plans. With strong competition from Lamine Yamal, Raphinha, and Ferran Torres, his future at Camp Nou looks uncertain.

Similarly, Pablo Torre, once regarded as one of Spain’s brightest young midfielders, has failed to secure a spot in Flick’s squad. After an unconvincing loan at Girona, he has fallen out of the club’s plans. With Gavi, Pedri, and Dani Olmo considered untouchable and Flick preferring Fermin Lopez, Barcelona are looking to sell Torre, though a loan move remains an option. Real Sociedad and Villarreal have shown interest, with his market value estimated at €10-15 million.

The final player on the departure list is Iñaki Peña. Initially seen as Ter Stegen’s backup, he has lost Flick’s trust. With Wojciech Szczesny’s contract extended until 2026, Peña is no longer the second-choice goalkeeper and has requested to leave in search of playing time.

With these three players no longer in Flick’s plans, Barcelona aims to use their departures to reinforce key positions in the squad. The coach has made his decision clear: Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre, and Iñaki Peña are more likely to leave than stay.
