Fabrizio Romano Claims “World-Class” Liverpool Star Will “100%” Leave This Summer

Liverpool forward Darwin Núñez is expected to leave the club this summer, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, adding to ongoing speculation about his future.

David Lynch recently shared his insights with Dave Davis on Anfield Index, discussing Núñez’s likely departure and Liverpool’s transfer plans. He expressed confidence that the striker will leave, stating, “I believe Darwin Núñez will definitely leave Liverpool this summer, and I think that’s almost certain.” Lynch also noted strong interest from clubs, particularly in Saudi Arabia.

He further explained that a move to Saudi Arabia seems probable, as there was interest in January and Núñez appeared open to the idea. If the transfer happens, Liverpool will need to reconsider their attacking options ahead of next season.

This potential exit raises concerns about squad balance, especially under new manager Arne Slot. Lynch mentioned that Liverpool is likely to prioritize signing a left-back, a midfielder, and possibly a new striker if Núñez departs, indicating a busy transfer window ahead.

Lynch also touched on Luis Díaz’s situation, pointing out that with two years left on his contract, Liverpool might be reluctant to let him go, instead focusing on strengthening other key positions.

If Núñez and other players leave, Liverpool will have to address key areas to remain competitive. Strengthening the defense and midfield while managing player contracts will be crucial as the team adapts under Slot’s leadership.

With a transformative summer ahead, Liverpool’s transfer decisions will shape their future—either fueling another title push or requiring a period of adjustment as new signings settle in.
