Lamine Yamal ‘cleared’ to face Atletico Madrid

Barcelona’s rising star Lamine Yamal has been cleared to play against Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey tonight, despite suffering a nasty injury during the weekend clash with Las Palmas.

Yamal was on the receiving end of a heavy tackle that left his sock soaked in blood, sparking outrage. Barcelona manager Hansi Flick voiced his frustration, calling for stricter punishment for reckless challenges to deter future incidents.

“We can’t say that Lamine or certain players are specially protected, it should be for everyone. If they don’t get yellow cards, hard fouls keep being repeated,” Flick stated, emphasizing the need for consistent officiating.

The young winger, who posted an image of his injury on social media, appears to have recovered quickly and is now set to feature against Atletico Madrid. Flick also suggested that VAR should be used to review dangerous tackles and issue red cards when necessary to better protect players.
