After the painful draw against Atletico Madrid… Pedri and Yamal demand Flick to exclude Barcelona’s duo from the starting lineup

Barcelona’s dramatic 4-4 draw against Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals sparked significant frustration in the dressing room.

Despite dominating the match, Barcelona failed to secure the win due to multiple missed chances. According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Polish striker Robert Lewandowski and Spanish winger Ferran Torres were largely blamed for this disappointment, as they squandered at least three clear opportunities, frustrating their teammates.

Pedri and Lamine Yamal, closely analyzing the team’s performance, were particularly unhappy with the duo’s inefficiency and urged coach Hansi Flick to drop them from the starting lineup in future matches.

Concerned about the impact of their performances on Barcelona’s season, Pedri and Yamal warned that continuing with the same attacking setup could be detrimental. They reportedly suggested alternative strategies, including deploying Dani Olmo as a false nine, to improve the team’s attacking efficiency and secure better results.

These revelations highlight the growing tension within the squad, with fears that the disappointing draw could negatively affect Barcelona’s season trajectory.
