The player who was valued at 75 million euros offers himself to Barcelona as a replacement for Lewandowski, but Flick flatly rejects him

Barcelona are gearing up for a challenging La Liga match against Real Sociedad at Montjuïc Stadium in Catalonia as part of the 26th round of the Spanish League.

The Catalan club currently leads the league standings with 54 points, with their long-time rivals, Real Madrid, in second place, tied on points but trailing on goal difference.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, the future of Darwin Núñez remains uncertain. The Uruguayan striker, who joined Liverpool in the summer of 2022 for 75 million euros from Benfica, has struggled to meet expectations in the Premier League. With Arne Slot set to take over as Liverpool’s manager, Núñez’s role in the team has become increasingly uncertain.

As a result, his representatives have begun exploring new opportunities, offering him to Barcelona, who are looking to reinforce their attacking options for next season. This need has grown more pressing as Robert Lewandowski, who turns 37 in August, may require more rest.

Despite Núñez’s notable qualities as a striker, Barcelona’s coach, Hansi Flick, is reportedly not in favor of the move. He prefers Ferran Torres over the Uruguayan forward, believing Torres to be a more effective and consistent option in front of goal—an area where Núñez has struggled during his time in England.
