Hansi Flick expresses his disappointment after the Real Sociedad match due to Barcelona star’s failure to score

Hansi Flick Disappointed as Lamine Yamal Fails to Score in Real Sociedad Win

Barcelona secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Real Sociedad in the 26th round of La Liga, moving to 57 points at the top of the table, while Sociedad remained in ninth place with 34 points.

Despite the emphatic win, coach Hansi Flick was reportedly disappointed that young star Lamine Yamal failed to find the back of the net. According to Sport, Flick had hoped Yamal would capitalize on the favorable conditions, especially after Real Sociedad went down to 10 men in the 17th minute. The coach wanted the youngster to break his four-month La Liga goal drought and ease some of the pressure on him.

In an effort to help Yamal score, Flick opted to substitute Rafinha and Pedri early in the second half while keeping Yamal on the pitch. However, despite his strong performance, the 16-year-old was unable to get on the scoresheet.

“I wanted him to take advantage of the situation and score to boost his confidence, but it didn’t happen,” Flick admitted after the match. While pleased with the team’s overall performance, the coach had hoped this game would be a turning point for Yamal in front of goal.
