Pedri and Lamine Yamal are urging Barcelona’s management to sign this world-class player who will end the dominance of one of the untouchable players in the starting lineup

Barcelona remain in the hunt for all titles this season, but within the dressing room, discussions are growing about the need for a more dynamic and mobile striker—one who better complements the playing style of the team’s young stars.

According to the Spanish newspaper El Nacional, Pedri and Lamine Yamal, two of the team’s most influential players, believe that adding a forward with greater movement and link-up play would enhance their performances and elevate Barcelona’s attacking game.

While Robert Lewandowski remains a prolific goal scorer and has maintained a strong scoring record this season, his limited mobility in certain matches has sparked some concerns among teammates. Pedri and Yamal, who play key roles in creating chances, reportedly feel that a striker who actively participates in build-up play—rather than primarily waiting inside the penalty area—would significantly boost the team’s offensive potential.

Their preferred target? Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak. The Swedish striker possesses excellent technical ability and excels at linking up play, making him a strong fit for Barcelona’s evolving attack. However, signing him would be a complex task due to his high market value, though club president Joan Laporta is reportedly keen on exploring the possibility.

Although Lewandowski remains a crucial figure in Barcelona’s attack, the club is open to considering offers for him this summer, especially given his age and high salary. If a suitable deal arises, Barcelona could move forward with a long-term attacking overhaul.

With Pedri and Yamal advocating for a tactical shift, the club’s management—led by Deco and Laporta—is actively assessing market options. However, financial constraints will ultimately determine whether Barcelona can make a major signing. If they can generate funds through key player sales, securing a new striker could become a top priority.
