Liverpool ‘prepare €100m bid’ for PSG player after watching him at Anfield in Arne Slot’s biggest signing yet

Liverpool are reportedly preparing a €100 million bid to sign a PSG star – days after the French side knocked them out of the Champions League.

Liverpool were knocked out of the Champions League on Tuesday after a penalty shootout defeat to PSG at Anfield. The last-16 tie ended 1-1 on aggregate, with Darwin Núñez and Curtis Jones missing from the spot as Gianluigi Donnarumma made crucial saves.

After the match, Reds manager Arne Slot felt his team had done enough to win the second leg, despite their 1-0 loss. However, he admitted: “Over 180 minutes, maybe it was fair that the game went to extra time. In extra time, I thought PSG were slightly better than us.”

Several PSG players stood out over the two legs, including Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Bradley Barcola, and Vitinha.

Liverpool eyeing PSG star Ousmane Dembélé

According to Sky Sports Germany, Liverpool are preparing for an “exciting” summer transfer window, with Slot planning a squad overhaul.

Now, reports from Fichajes suggest that Liverpool are set to make an early move for one of PSG’s standout performers—Ousmane Dembélé. The Reds are reportedly ready to submit a €100 million bid for the French winger, who scored PSG’s equalizing goal at Anfield in the second leg.

Former Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembélé posed a constant threat to Liverpool’s defense, and at 28, he is enjoying the best season of his career.

Since the start of 2025, Dembélé has scored 21 goals, an outstanding run of form that could position him as a Ballon d’Or contender if PSG continue their Champions League campaign successfully.

Liverpool’s Longstanding Interest in Dembélé

The French winger has been linked with Liverpool multiple times throughout his career.

  • In 2018, then-Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp publicly admitted his interest in signing Dembélé when rumors suggested he was available.
  • In 2020, AS reported that Dembélé would be open to an Anfield move if given the opportunity.
  • A year later, speculation arose that Liverpool were in talks to sign him on a free transfer, though the deal never materialized.

A Potential Salah Replacement?

While Liverpool are reportedly preparing a €100 million bid, Fichajes claims PSG value him much higher due to his exceptional form and a contract that runs until June 2028.

However, if Dembélé can leave his injury problems behind him, he could be an ideal replacement for Mohamed Salah—especially if the Egyptian decides to move on in the future.
