Liverpool Searching for a New Striker to Replace Darwin Núñez
Liverpool are preparing to enter the summer transfer market in search of a new striker, as Darwin Núñez has struggled to deliver consistently. With Mohamed Salah carrying most of the goal-scoring burden, Liverpool have suffered whenever he is off form, as their other forwards have failed to step up.
The attacking trio of Núñez, Luis Díaz, and Diogo Jota have underperformed, leaving the Reds in urgent need of reinforcements.
Liverpool Rule Out Move for Julián Álvarez
Recent reports suggested Liverpool were interested in Julián Álvarez, who has been in top form under Diego Simeone at Atlético Madrid. The 25-year-old forward has registered 23 goals and five assists in 44 appearances this season.
However, Football Insider reports that Liverpool have opted against making a move for Álvarez, despite previous interest. Atlético Madrid paid over £80 million for him last summer, and Liverpool are unwilling to match that price tag.
Liverpool Exploring More Affordable Striker Options
Following their Champions League exit and Carabao Cup final loss to Newcastle United, Liverpool recognize that strengthening their attack is a top priority.
While Alexander Isak would be an ideal target, Liverpool are searching for more budget-friendly alternatives, with Ipswich Town’s Liam Delap emerging as a potential option.
Additionally, with growing uncertainty over Salah’s future, Liverpool are also considering replacements in case the Egyptian star leaves at the end of the season.
