Centre back injured playing for Spain against Netherlands and undergoes tests on return to Barcelona

Pau Cubarsí Withdrawn Early Due to Injury in Spain’s Clash Against Netherlands

Pau Cubarsí’s involvement in Spain’s UEFA Nations League quarterfinal against the Netherlands was cut short after just 41 minutes. The young center-back picked up an injury and had to be substituted before halftime in a match that ended in a 2-2 draw.

Following the setback, Cubarsí returned to Barcelona, where he underwent medical tests on Saturday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper. The club is now monitoring his condition closely as they assess the extent of the injury and his potential recovery timeline.

Barcelona Confirm Pau Cubarsí’s Injury Diagnosis

Barcelona have provided an update on Pau Cubarsí’s condition following further medical tests at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper.

“The tests conducted this morning have shown that first-team player Pau Cubarsí has an elongation of the anterior tibiofibular ligament in his right ankle. He will undergo conservative treatment, and his tolerance to activity will be re-evaluated in 48 hours,” the club announced in an official statement.

The young center-back, who was forced off during Spain’s UEFA Nations League quarterfinal against the Netherlands, will rest over the weekend before undergoing another fitness assessment on Monday. If his recovery progresses well, he could be available for Barcelona’s upcoming clash against Osasuna on Thursday.
