Liverpool could reportedly use two players in a stunning swap deal to sign Alexander Isak from Newcastle United.
Liverpool are expected to be active in the summer transfer market after only signing Federico Chiesa last year.
Several key players, including Darwin Nunez, Diogo Jota, and Luis Diaz, have been linked with potential moves away from Anfield. Additionally, Trent Alexander-Arnold is reportedly close to joining Real Madrid on a free transfer, while Mohamed Salah and Virgil van Dijk are set to be out of contract in the summer.
As a result, Liverpool have been linked with players such as Alexander Isak, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong. However, Newcastle are reportedly demanding at least £150 million for Isak, which could pose a challenge for the Reds.
According to talkSPORT, Liverpool may consider a player-plus-cash deal to secure the striker. Last summer, Newcastle were said to be close to signing Joe Gomez, and defender Jarell Quansah was also mentioned as a potential bargaining chip when Liverpool pursued Anthony Gordon. Both defenders could now be included in an offer for Isak.
Following his standout performances for Newcastle, Isak is expected to be one of the most in-demand players in the upcoming transfer window.
So far in the 2024/25 season, Swedish international Alexander Isak has recorded 23 goals and five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
Earlier this month, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano commented on Isak’s situation, stating: “Arsenal want Isak, and Benjamin Sesko is another name on their list. Liverpool are also in the race for Isak and have already made some contact with people close to the player.”
He added: “Both clubs are interested—Isak is Arsenal’s top priority, while for Liverpool, he is one of several options they are considering for that position. Newcastle, however, remain firm on keeping him. But as we know, when significant offers come in, financial fair play and other factors can influence decisions.”
