Despite the speculation, Fabrizio Romano reports that Wirtz intends to stay at Leverkusen “for at least one more year.” Romano stated, “Florian Wirtz has made it clear that his focus remains on Leverkusen and the upcoming Euros. My understanding aligns with this—he has no plans to leave just yet.”

The 20-year-old has been in sensational form this season, netting 28 goals in 36 matches across all competitions.
Wirtz’s future could be closely linked to his manager. In February, Christian Falk reported via CaughtOffside: “Florian Wirtz thrives under Alonso, who gives him complete freedom on the pitch. His stance is clear—if Alonso stays, he will too. However, if Alonso joins Liverpool in the summer, Wirtz might follow.”
