Teenage star Lamine Yamal has been linked with a move away from Barcelona with two clubs reportedly interested.
Yamal, just 17 years old, has quickly become one of the most exciting talents in Europe thanks to his standout performances for Barcelona.
Since making his first-team debut in 2023, the young star has consistently impressed at both club and international level.
To date, the Spanish forward has netted 20 goals in 92 games across all competitions for the Catalan giants.
In the 2024/25 season alone, Yamal has contributed 13 goals and 19 assists in 41 matches.
In 2023, Barcelona confirmed that Yamal had signed a contract extension, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2026.
That deal also includes a staggering one-billion-euro release clause.
Despite this, Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo reports that Yamal could potentially leave the club amid Barcelona’s ongoing financial troubles.
Lamine Yamal Linked with Surprise Move Away from Barcelona
Reports suggest that Barcelona may be facing complications in negotiating a new contract for rising star Lamine Yamal.
As uncertainty around his future grows, Premier League giants Liverpool and Manchester City are reportedly keeping a close eye on the situation.
Barcelona midfielder Pedri recently commented on Yamal, saying: “I tell him to keep doing what he’s doing, to keep having fun. Although sometimes you have to clip his ears… but that’s okay.”
Former Barça striker Luis Suárez also praised the 17-year-old’s talent: “I love today’s Barcelona. The team has a dynamic, a style of football and a level of efficiency that is really impressive. There are two players who are well above average, in my opinion – Pedri and Lamine Yamal. They’re difference-makers.”
Barcelona are set to return to La Liga action on Saturday night, hosting Real Betis at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys.
