Guirassy points finger

🚨 Guirassy Points to Bensebaini’s Costly Own Goal as Turning Point in Dortmund’s Exit

“I wanted to punish Barcelona… but Ramy stopped me.”

Borussia Dortmund forward Serhou Guirassy has revealed his frustration following their 3-1 win over Barcelona in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals, which still saw the Germans eliminated 5-3 on aggregate.

Guirassy, who netted a brilliant hat-trick in the match, admitted that despite his efforts, his dream of leading Dortmund to a famous comeback was dashed—largely due to teammate Ramy Bensebaini’s own goal in the first leg.

> “I wanted to punish Barcelona and take us to the semi-finals, but Ramy’s own goal in the first leg made things very hard. It felt like he stopped me from achieving what I had in mind,” Guirassy reportedly said post-match.

The striker’s comments highlight the fine margins at the highest level, where one mistake can shift the trajectory of an entire tie. Despite the second-leg win, Dortmund’s first-leg collapse proved too much to

overcome.
