Hansi Flick criticizes two Barcelona players after the victory over Real Mallorca and showers praise on the most important player of the match!

Barcelona extended their lead at the top of La Liga to seven points over Real Madrid after securing a narrow win over Real Mallorca on Tuesday evening in round 33 at the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. The victory brought them to 76 points, while Mallorca held onto seventh place with 44.

Despite the final scoreline, head coach Hansi Flick expressed that the match could’ve ended with a much wider margin. According to El Nacional, the German manager was pleased with the result but disappointed by the number of wasted opportunities from his team.

Flick reserved his praise mainly for midfielder Pedri, who was instrumental in the win, creating six scoring chances—more than any other player on the pitch. Flick reportedly told him, “I have no words to describe how brilliant you were today.”

He also commended Dani Olmo for his strong comeback performance, encouraging him to maintain the same level in upcoming crucial fixtures against Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final and Inter Milan in the Champions League.

However, the coach didn’t shy away from criticism. He voiced serious concern over Lamine Yamal’s display, warning the young forward that prioritizing flair over team play could see him benched for the most important matches. Yamal’s inefficiency in front of goal and poor positioning reportedly left Flick visibly irritated.

Flick also had sharp words for Ferran Torres, calling out his failure to convert key chances. He told the attacker, “You keep asking to start, but then you miss in ways that cost us.” With major finals approaching, the manager made it clear that individual lapses won’t be tolerated.
