Barcelona to Extend Lamine Yamal’s Contract Until 2031

FC Barcelona are poised to secure the future of their brightest young star, with Nicolo Schira reporting that the club will extend Lamine Yamal’s contract until 2031. The official signing is set to take place on his 18th birthday, July 13.

The current deal, which runs until 2026, already includes a staggering €1 billion release clause. But amid growing interest from European heavyweights like PSG and Real Madrid, Barça are doubling down to ensure their La Masia gem stays put. Yamal’s agent, Jorge Mendes, has confirmed the teenager’s desire to continue in Catalonia.

The 17-year-old has enjoyed a breakout season—scoring 14 goals and supplying 22 assists in 47 appearances for Barcelona, while also shining on the international stage with 19 caps for Spain and a UEFA European Championship under his belt.

This long-term commitment marks a major statement of intent from Barcelona, as they aim to build a new era around their latest generational talent.
