Liverpool Enter Race for Chelsea Star Cole Palmer in Surprise Transfer Development
Liverpool are reportedly exploring a shock summer move for Chelsea’s breakout star Cole Palmer, according to journalist Simon Phillips. The 21-year-old England international has been outstanding since his switch from Manchester City, racking up 34 goals in 89 games for the Blues.
Palmer, who struggled for minutes at City, has blossomed at Stamford Bridge, quickly becoming a vital attacking force. His performances haven’t gone unnoticed, with both his former club and Liverpool now expressing interest ahead of the transfer window.
Simon Phillips revealed in his latest Substack post: “Both Manchester City and Liverpool have been sniffing around Cole Palmer for the summer, with City making an enquiry recently.” However, he added that Chelsea are unlikely to part ways with their rising star.
John Terry previously labelled Palmer as “incredible,” and Liverpool could view him as a valuable upgrade over their inconsistent attacking options such as Luis Díaz, Cody Gakpo, and the injury-prone Diogo Jota.
While a deal appears unlikely at this stage, Palmer’s growing reputation and potential fit under Arne Slot’s system make him a name to watch closely this summer.
