Barcelona’s talented star threatens to leave the club next summer if he doesn’t start in the Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid!

Barcelona is gearing up for a vital showdown against arch-rivals Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final, with coach Hansi Flick aiming to secure a third consecutive victory over Los Blancos.

According to the Spanish outlet El Nacional, Fermín López has emerged as one of Barcelona’s brightest talents in recent weeks, consistently impressing Flick with his performances. López has seized every opportunity to showcase his skills, proving himself a top-level player with the potential to excel at any major club. However, fierce competition for places has limited his regular involvement.

Whenever he has featured, Fermín has demonstrated exceptional movement in the penalty area, sharp defensive contributions, and relentless pressing. In the Champions League quarter-final against Borussia Dortmund, he was pivotal, providing the cross that forced an own goal from Ramy Bensebaini, helping Barcelona advance to the semi-finals. He also played a key role in the Copa del Rey semi-final triumph over Atlético Madrid, performances that solidified his standing in the squad and justified Flick’s preference for him over Pablo Páez “Gavi.”

Despite his form, López remains unsettled. Concerns linger that Flick might prioritize players like Gavi or the recently recovered Dani Olmo for the final against Real Madrid. If Fermín is left out of the starting XI, he is prepared to voice his dissatisfaction directly to president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco — and he could even consider leaving Barcelona if his role remains marginal.

Interest in Fermín is strong, with several top European clubs reportedly monitoring his situation. If he is overlooked for the final, it could not only spark internal friction at Barcelona but also open the door to a potential transfer saga this summer.
