Lewandowski Eyes Return for Inter Clash as Barcelona Push to the Wire
Robert Lewandowski is pushing to make his return for Barcelona’s crucial Champions League semi-final second leg against Inter Milan on Tuesday at the San Siro.
The veteran striker has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Barça’s narrow 1-0 win over Celta Vigo on April 19. But according to transfer insider Fabrizio Romano, the 35-year-old is hoping to be included in the travelling squad, with a final decision expected within the next 24 hours.
Lewandowski’s presence would be a major boost for Hansi Flick’s side as they look to overturn the deficit against a strong Inter Milan outfit.
Meanwhile, midfielder Fermin López, who netted the winner against Valladolid, sent a rallying cry after the game:
“Barcelona will fight until the end, no matter how the game is going.”
With stars stepping up and reinforcements potentially returning, Barça are set for a defining night in Europe.
