Chelsea are actively targeting reinforcements on the left wing ahead of the 2025–26 season, with Rafael Leão of AC Milan and Alejandro Garnacho of Manchester United topping their shortlist, according to multiple reports.
The Blues have reportedly made informal contact with Leão and reopened talks with Garnacho’s camp, following a failed approach in January. Both players have had standout seasons—Leão with 25 goal involvements and Garnacho with 21—and are valued at around €75 million and €70 million respectively.
This renewed interest comes amid uncertainty in Chelsea’s current winger options. Mykhailo Mudryk is suspended due to a doping violation, and Jadon Sancho has underperformed. With Arsenal also in the hunt for similar targets like Nico Williams and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, Chelsea face stiff competition.
Under new boss Enzo Maresca, the club is planning a major squad overhaul, also targeting a striker and central defender. Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Man City’s Liam Delap are being considered up front, while Marc Guehi and Dean Huijsen are on their radar for defensive reinforcement.
A win against Real Betis in the Europa Conference League final on May 28 could secure a Champions League spot, significantly boosting Chelsea’s transfer appeal.
