Pep Guardiola is making a strong move to snatch Barcelona’s golden star, placing him at the top of his priorities to build an unbeatable team for next season!

Guardiola Eyes Dani Olmo as Key Piece in Manchester City’s Summer Rebuild

Following a season that failed to meet expectations, Manchester City are already planning major changes, with Pep Guardiola taking decisive steps to reshape the squad for a return to dominance. Despite boasting a team full of top-tier talent, the Spanish manager believes key reinforcements are necessary to reclaim success both domestically and in Europe.

One of Guardiola’s top priorities is Barcelona’s Dani Olmo, who has emerged as a standout performer in La Liga this season. His consistent displays have made him a pivotal figure in Barcelona’s title campaign, catching the eye of the City boss.

As reported by Football Espana, Guardiola is eager to bring Olmo to the Etihad Stadium this summer to take over the creative responsibilities in midfield — particularly in the role behind Erling Haaland — following the expected departure of Kevin De Bruyne.

While City had previously considered Florian Wirtz as an option for this role, the German international is now widely expected to join Bayern Munich, prompting Guardiola to intensify his interest in Olmo.

The 27-year-old Spanish international is currently valued at around €60 million and is under contract with Barcelona until June 2030. Having joined from RB Leipzig in August 2024, Olmo has made an immediate impact, recording 11 goals and 6 assists in 36 appearances across all competitions.

It remains to be seen whether Barcelona will be willing to part with one of their most influential players, but Guardiola appears determined to bring Olmo into his system as a key piece of City’s summer overhaul.
