Real Madrid star breaks silence amid claims he’s ‘refusing to play for club again’ over Jude Bellingham issue

A Real Madrid star has broken his silence amid claims he’s ‘refusing to play for the club again’ over a Jude Bellingham issue.

Real Madrid are on track to finish the 2024/25 season without securing a major trophy, but they still have a chance to salvage some success with this summer’s Club World Cup.

Amid a disappointing campaign, tensions appear to be surfacing within Carlo Ancelotti’s squad. According to MARCA, forward Rodrygo informed the club’s staff that he didn’t feel fit enough to play, despite having participated in four training sessions earlier in the week.

Following Real’s dramatic 4-3 loss to Barcelona, Ancelotti addressed the situation in his post-match press conference:
“He had recovered, but wasn’t feeling right. He wasn’t at 100 percent. I have no issue with him. He had a fever recently, and putting him on for even five minutes could have led to an injury.”

Reports suggest Rodrygo is feeling sidelined, particularly in the wake of the intense media attention surrounding Jude Bellingham and the anticipated arrival of Kylian Mbappe. This spotlight shift is said to have created some distance between him and teammate Vinicius Jr.

The outlet further claims Rodrygo is currently staying out of the spotlight and is reportedly upset over losing the prominence he once shared with Vinicius. There are even suggestions that he is considering leaving the club.

However, the 24-year-old has denied any intention to leave Real Madrid. Responding to the rumors on social media, Rodrygo expressed gratitude for fans’ support and dismissed the speculation, writing:
“Thank you for all your messages and concerns. I’ll be back soon. Stop making things up.”

Rodrygo has netted 14 goals in 51 appearances this season and has played a significant role, though he is not seen as central to the attack in the same way as Mbappe or Vinicius.

With the summer transfer window approaching, his future remains uncertain, and Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool are reportedly monitoring his situation closely. Rodrygo has been with Real Madrid since 2019, following his move from Santos.
