Luka Modric tipped to complete crazy move back to England in deal that would send shockwaves through the football world

Luka Modric has been tipped to make a shock move back to English football after confirming his Real Madrid exit.

After 13 highly successful years at Real Madrid, Luka Modric has officially announced he will leave the club this summer.

In an emotional message shared on social media, the veteran midfielder wrote: “The time has come. A moment I never wanted, but such is football—and life, where everything begins and eventually ends… On Saturday, I’ll play my final match at the Santiago Bernabéu.

“Representing Real Madrid transformed me both as a player and as a person. I’m proud to have been part of one of the most glorious eras in the club’s history. Even though I won’t wear this shirt after the Club World Cup, I will always carry Real Madrid in my heart.”

Since his announcement, the 39-year-old has been linked with potential moves to clubs in the U.S., Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

However, in a surprising twist, former Real Madrid striker Fernando Morientes has suggested Modric could join Welsh side Swansea City.

Speaking to CasinoHawks, Morientes said: “Seeing Luka Modric at Swansea would be incredible. Fans would be thrilled. Even at this stage of his career, someone like Modric would bring immense value and enthusiasm to the club’s project.

“We can’t expect him to be at peak performance at his age, but look at the difference he made against Barcelona—his presence still shifts the dynamic in midfield.”

Morientes added: “He may no longer have the same competitive sharpness such matches demand, but his football intelligence, midfield mastery, and sheer quality mean he could still deliver a few strong seasons.

I truly believe Modric could perform well in England for another couple of years—without question. And the buzz his arrival would create among fans would be massive.”

Before his illustrious spell at Real Madrid, Modric had already built a strong reputation in England, playing for Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
