Barcelona reach agreement with Garcia. Goalkeeper can be bought for 25-30 million euros and then loaned out

BREAKING: Barcelona Close to Signing Espanyol Goalkeeper Joan Garcia

Barcelona are nearing a deal to sign Espanyol’s standout goalkeeper Joan Garcia, per Cadena SER. A preliminary agreement is already in place, with Barça prepared to trigger his €25–30 million release clause—potentially rising if he’s called up to the Spanish national team.

With salary cap restrictions looming, Barça may loan Garcia out for the 2025/26 season. Both Real Betis and Valencia have expressed interest in a temporary move, which the 23-year-old is open to in order to gain regular minutes.

Uncertainty around the futures of Marc-André ter Stegen and Wojciech Szczesny adds weight to the club’s strategic interest in Garcia. While no final agreement has been reached, talks are progressing, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.
