How Liverpool could line up next season under Arne Slot with a host of huge new signings including Florian Wirtz

The seriously incredible lineup that Liverpool could put together next season has been revealed, and it could win it all.

After finally getting the opportunity to celebrate a Premier League title with their fans, Liverpool’s focus now shifts to the summer transfer window as new manager Arne Slot prepares to reshape the squad for the upcoming season.

With several key players set to depart Anfield, there’s uncertainty around the exact budget available for reinforcements. Still, the expectation is that the club will make several high-profile signings to bolster their title defense.

One Name Already Making Headlines: Jeremie Frimpong

Following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold—who leaves as a free agent after his contract expired—attention quickly turned to finding a replacement. It didn’t take long for reports to emerge linking Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen with a move to Anfield.

Just days after the initial speculation, transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Liverpool had triggered Frimpong’s €35 million release clause, sealing a deal for the dynamic right-back.

It remains to be seen whether Frimpong will slot straight into the starting XI or rotate minutes with Conor Bradley, but his arrival is seen as a major coup for Slot’s first Liverpool squad.

What’s Next?

With Frimpong potentially the first of several additions, all eyes are on how Slot will rebuild and set up his Liverpool side. More arrivals are expected as the Reds aim to maintain their place at the top of English football.

Florian Wirtz

Jeremie Frimpong may not be the only Bayer Leverkusen standout heading to Anfield this summer. German international Florian Wirtz is also being tipped for a move, despite strong interest from both Manchester City and Bayern Munich. The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is said to have chosen Liverpool, with the deal expected to smash the club’s transfer record at a fee of more than £120 million.

While Wirtz is almost certain to start most games, Arne Slot’s exact plans for him remain open. The new boss could deploy him as a false nine—pushing Diogo Jota or Darwin Núñez down the pecking order—or slide him into Dominik Szoboszlai’s current role, depending on other arrivals.

Wirtz was one of only two Bundesliga players this season to reach double figures in both goals (10) and assists (12), the other being Michael Olise. Impressively, he and Liverpool’s own Mohamed Salah are the only players across Europe’s top five leagues to achieve that “double-double” in consecutive seasons.

Milos Kerkez

One of Liverpool’s most pressing needs this summer is strengthening the left-back position—a spot that has emerged as a weakness over the past season.

While Andrew Robertson has continued to show flashes of his quality, age and injuries appear to be taking their toll. Meanwhile, Kostas Tsimikas has struggled to impress when given opportunities, leading many to believe his time at Anfield could soon come to an end.

To address this, Liverpool are reportedly close to securing Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Hungarian international has already agreed personal terms with the Reds, and negotiations between the two clubs over a transfer fee are well underway.

Should Tsimikas leave as expected, Kerkez would likely step in as the first-choice left-back, with Robertson transitioning into a more experienced backup role as part of Arne Slot’s new-look Liverpool side.
