Barcelona lose interest in Luis Diaz – ‘too expensive’

Barcelona Cool Interest in Luis Díaz Due to High Price Tag, Shift Focus to Marcus Rashford

Barcelona are reportedly backing away from their pursuit of Luis Díaz, as the financial demands of the transfer prove too steep. Multiple sources confirm that the €85 million price tag set by Liverpool is beyond what the Catalan giants are willing to pay, especially given their ongoing financial constraints.

Although the 28-year-old Colombian winger is said to be open to a move to Camp Nou, the cost has made the deal increasingly unrealistic.

According to Diario Sport, Barça have now turned their attention to a more economical alternative—Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford. The English international would command a significantly lower fee, roughly half the cost of Díaz, though his wages remain relatively high.

Still, Barcelona are exploring a loan deal with a purchase option for Rashford, a structure that would better align with their current financial strategy.

While both Hansi Flick and Deco are strong admirers of Díaz, valuing his intensity and finishing ability, they reportedly view Rashford as a viable and flexible alternative for the left wing.
