Great Chance” – Liverpool Ace Acknowledges Saudi Club Negotiations

Mohamed Salah Confirms Saudi Talks Before Committing to Liverpool

Mohamed Salah has revealed that a move to Saudi Arabia was seriously considered before he committed his future to Liverpool with a new two-year deal in April.

In an interview with On Sport, the Egyptian star admitted:
“I thought joining the Saudi League was a real opportunity. Had I not renewed with Liverpool, I may have gone.”
He also emphasized the influence of the fans, stating:
“The fans pressured the club to keep me… from the start, they made it clear they wanted me to stay.”

Salah had been heavily courted by the Saudi Pro League, with Al Ittihad submitting a £150 million bid in 2023—an offer Liverpool rejected.

Despite the interest, Salah remained at Anfield and went on to have a stellar season, winning Premier League Player of the Season, Golden Boot, and Playmaker of the Season awards after scoring 34 goals and providing 23 assists across all competitions, leading Liverpool to the league title.

Though Salah is now contracted through 2027, his comments suggest a future move to the Middle East remains a possibility once his time at Liverpool comes to an end.
