Liverpool are reportedly ready to sell one star as the Florian Wirtz transfer saga finally comes to an end.
Liverpool Set to Offload Luis Díaz Amid Incoming Signings
With just four days remaining until the summer transfer window officially opens, Liverpool are wasting no time in preparing for a busy few months.
The Reds are reportedly close to finalising deals for Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, both expected to sign in the early stages of the window as Liverpool look to reshape their squad under incoming leadership.
But while the focus has largely been on incoming talent, attention is also turning to potential departures.
According to a recent report, Luis Díaz is among the players Liverpool have decided to make available for transfer. The Colombian winger, who has shown flashes of brilliance since his arrival, could now be on the move as the club seeks to balance its squad and raise funds for further additions.
Multiple clubs are believed to be monitoring Díaz’s situation, with some reportedly preparing bids as Liverpool signal a willingness to sell.
With a major summer overhaul underway, Díaz’s exit could mark a significant shift in the Reds’ attacking options.
Mick Brown Reveals Liverpool’s Stance on Luis Díaz’s Future Amid Incoming Deals
In an interview with Football Insider, former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown revealed that Liverpool view Luis Díaz as a sellable asset to help fund major transfers this summer.
Brown explained:
“Liverpool are prepared to part ways with Díaz, but only once they secure a replacement. The club has always been open to selling him, but they wanted to ensure they had a new player in place before making any moves.
“It’s one thing to decide you can improve on a player, but it’s another to find someone better. Liverpool have been working behind the scenes for a while to identify suitable replacements, and it seems they’ve settled on Florian Wirtz as the ideal option.”
Brown added that once the Wirtz deal is completed, Liverpool will be in a better position to allow other players to leave and make room in the squad for new additions.
Barcelona Among Clubs Interested in Luis Díaz This Summer
According to Mick Brown, Barcelona are just one of the clubs monitoring Luis Díaz’s situation at Liverpool ahead of the upcoming transfer window. The La Liga giants are reportedly interested in several wingers, with Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford also on their radar.
Díaz, who has been a key figure for Liverpool this season, made 50 appearances across all competitions, scoring 17 goals and providing 8 assists.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Díaz could become a valuable asset for Liverpool to generate funds for other deals.
