According to SPORT, sporting director Deco met with Marcus Rashford’s agent this week at a hotel in Barcelona to discuss a potential move for the Manchester United forward.
Barcelona had previously shown interest in Rashford during the January transfer window, but financial limitations tied to La Liga’s fair play regulations made a loan move unfeasible at that time.
Now, with their primary target Luis Díaz deemed too costly, the Catalan club is considering more budget-friendly options—placing Rashford back on their radar. The club values his abilities, but what makes the deal attractive is the financial feasibility. A loan deal with a purchase option appears to be the most realistic scenario.
From Barça’s perspective, the move presents a low-risk opportunity: if Rashford excels, a permanent transfer in 2026 could follow; if not, they can walk away without significant financial loss.
Although Marcus Rashford is under contract with Manchester United until 2028, he seems ready to leave both Old Trafford and England in search of a fresh start. His loan stint at Aston Villa this season showed glimpses of his talent, but a late injury derailed his momentum.
