Liverpool are reportedly close to finalizing a deal for Bournemouth left-back Milos Kerkez, following hints from the player that a move could be imminent now that the Premier League season has wrapped up.
The 21-year-old Hungarian international had a standout campaign, starting all 38 league matches for Bournemouth and contributing two goals and six assists.
His strong performances have attracted interest from several top clubs, with Liverpool currently leading the chase for his signature.
Speculation intensified after Kerkez posted a vague message on social media:
“I don’t know what will happen in the next week, but Cherries family, thank you!”
Many fans interpreted it as a farewell to Bournemouth supporters.
With veteran left-back Andy Robertson struggling to recapture his peak form, Liverpool see Kerkez as an ideal addition — bringing youth, pace, attacking ability, and depth to their defensive lineup.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations between Liverpool and Bournemouth are progressing well, and agreeing on personal terms is unlikely to be an issue.
If the move is completed, Kerkez would reunite with compatriot Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield, potentially strengthening the club’s Hungarian presence.
Following their Premier League triumph, new manager Arne Slot is aiming to bolster the squad, with Kerkez being just one element of an ambitious summer strategy. Liverpool’s marquee target is said to be Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz, while midfielder Harvey Elliott could be on his way out.
