Liverpool’s pursuit of Florian Wirtz has stalled due to Bayer Leverkusen’s firm stance and high asking price

Despite multiple approaches from Liverpool, including bids in the region of £109M–£113M, Leverkusen has made it clear they will not sell the German sensation this summer. The club values Wirtz at closer to £126M and intends to hold onto him for at least another season.

Liverpool, mindful of spending and already strong in midfield, is unwilling to meet that price right now. Wirtz himself is reportedly open to a move, but a transfer is more likely to happen in the summer of 2026, when the timing and financials may be more favorable
