By decision of the European Union: a sev,ere sanction threatens Barcelona’s participation in next season’s UEFA Champions League!

After an impressive run in this season’s Champions League, Barcelona’s journey ended in heartbreak as they were eliminated by Inter Milan in the semi-finals. Despite the disappointment, the ambition within the Catalan club remains undeterred. Coach Hansi Flick and the club’s leadership have already started laying the groundwork for a renewed push toward European glory next season, buoyed by strong fan support and optimism.

However, those plans have hit a sudden and unexpected obstacle.

Reports have emerged that UEFA is set to impose sanctions on Barcelona for the 2025–26 Champions League campaign, despite the club securing qualification by winning La Liga. According to The Times, this punishment stems from repeated violations of financial regulations for the second year in a row.

Possible consequences include a reduced squad size for the competition or even a points deduction during the tournament. Meanwhile, Radio Catalunya has indicated that the sanctions relate to discrepancies in Barcelona’s reported revenue figures.

The news comes as a serious blow to the club, just months after narrowly missing out on the Champions League final in a thrilling 7–6 aggregate loss to Inter Milan. Now, Barcelona faces not only the challenge of rebuilding for a title run—but doing so under the looming shadow of disciplinary action from UEFA.
