Raphinha BENCHED? How Barcelona could line up with Nico Williams

Nico Williams has long been on Barcelona’s radar, but this time the transfer talk seems more credible than ever.

According to reports, the Athletic Bilbao winger initiated contact himself—his representatives have already met with Deco, and he’s even indicated a willingness to accept a lower salary to help facilitate the move.

Assuming the transfer goes through, how would Nico Williams slot into the team? Would that push Raphinha out of the starting lineup?

Not necessarily.

The more plausible setup sees Nico occupying the left wing, while Raphinha moves into a more central position — operating almost as a second striker, regularly making runs in behind the defense.

It wouldn’t be the first time Raphinha has adapted to a new role — and delivered.
