Wrexham Target Liverpool’s Owen Beck as Milos Kerkez Deal Nears Completion
Wrexham are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool left-back Owen Beck on a season-long loan after the Premier League champions agreed a £40 million transfer for Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.
Backed by Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, Wrexham are preparing for their first season back in the Championship after three straight promotions. They’ve already added striker Ryan Hardie from Plymouth Argyle this summer and continue to explore further reinforcements.
Now they have set their sights on Beck, who impressed on loan at Blackburn Rovers last season. The 22-year-old is expected to head out on another loan to continue his development after spells at Famalicão and Bolton.
Former Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp previously spoke highly of Beck’s potential, noting that while those earlier loans were challenging, Beck had shown promise in his performances.
Wrexham’s interest coincides with Liverpool’s move for Milos Kerkez — the highly-rated 21-year-old left-back who shone for Bournemouth last season with 38 Premier League appearances, six goals, and two assists. According to The Athletic’s David Ornstein, Kerkez is due in the UK for a medical and is set to sign a five-year deal.
Kerkez’s arrival could pave the way for Beck’s exit and comes amid wider changes at Anfield this summer. The Reds have already completed deals for Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz, while also being linked with Crystal Palace’s Marc Guéhi, PSG’s Hugo Ekitike, and Newcastle’s Alexander Isak — all part of a busy summer as they prepare for a renewed domestic and European campaign.
