Club announces completed transfer as Fabrizio Romano reveals Milos Kerkez’s Liverpool medical details

Liverpool are set to officially unveil their fourth signing of the summer in the coming days.

Milos Kerkez touched down on Merseyside on Monday to begin his medical checks before completing a permanent move from Bournemouth. The Hungarian left-back, who shone during two impressive seasons under Andoni Iraola, will link up with fellow countryman Dominik Szoboszlai at Anfield.

Kerkez finalising medical ahead of £40m deal

Renowned transfer insider Fabrizio Romano shared on X (formerly Twitter) that the 21-year-old is now progressing through the final stage of his medical. Once all tests are passed, he’ll put pen to paper on a £40 million contract with the Reds.

Kerkez’s arrival further strengthens Arne Slot’s defensive options. Jeremie Frimpong has already been secured, while goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili agreed to terms last summer but is joining this year.

Phillips departs after long wait

Elsewhere, centre-back Nat Phillips has finally moved on from Liverpool. The 28-year-old completed a permanent switch to West Brom, with the Baggies announcing his signing on Monday for an undisclosed fee, joining Jarell Quansah as a fellow summer departure.

More reinforcements at the back?

With Quansah also leaving, Liverpool are expected to be in the market for another central defender. Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi continues to be linked, with Liverpool known to admire the England international.

With only 12 months remaining on Guehi’s contract, Palace could be forced into lowering their asking price. However, Liverpool’s recruitment team, headed by Richard Hughes, will wait until the deal looks right before making a formal move.
