Uncertainty over Rodrygoâs future at Real Madrid is mounting, especially after well-regarded journalist JosĂ© FĂ©lix DĂaz from Marca offered his thoughts.
Speaking on RubĂ©n MartĂnâs Twitch channel, DĂaz suggested the Brazilian forwardâs time at Madrid might soon be up.
âI donât believe Rodrygo will stay,â he said bluntly, underlining the growing doubts around the club. The playerâs absence in the Club World Cup tie against Pachuca â despite Kylian MbappĂ© being unavailable â has only added to the speculation.
Rodrygo spent the whole game on the bench, as youngsters like Arda GĂŒler, Brahim DĂaz, Gonzalo GarcĂa, and VĂctor Muñoz all got minutes.
Still, DĂaz did call for perspective, pointing to the extreme heat in Miami and the condensed fixture list as potential reasons for rotation.
âCeballos didnât feature at all in the first game and then played 20 minutes in the next. Itâs part of the rotation,â he noted.
No Calls From Guardiola, No Formal Offers Yet
Although there have been rumours of Manchester Cityâs interest, DĂaz was quick to quash them â for now.
âTo my knowledge, Guardiola hasnât contacted Rodrygo this year,â he confirmed. Arsenal have also been linked, but DĂaz stressed that nothing concrete had materialised.
âThereâs been more talk about Arsenal than City, but Iâm not aware of any official move,â he added.
And while Real Madrid havenât received an offer, the possibility of a sale remains on the table.
âItâs not that the case has been reopened â it was never closed,â DĂaz explained, implying the club would listen if a substantial bid arrived.
Mastantuono Could Shift the Balance
DĂaz also highlighted that Franco Mastantuonoâs arrival could hasten Rodrygoâs exit. The Argentine prospect, set to join after the World Cup, is held in high regard at Madrid.
âHeâs a locomotive,â DĂaz enthused. âHis drive, his style â he brings something different. Heâll definitely shake things up.â
With Mastantuono poised to take on a key role in a rejuvenated squad, Rodrygoâs position looks increasingly vulnerable.
For now, Rodrygo is still a Madrid player â but all signs suggest he could be one of the big names heading for the BernabĂ©u exit this summer if a suitable offer is made.
