BREAKING NEWS LIVE ‘Liverpool plan to accept Ibrahima Konate offer after contract talks collapses

Liverpool ready to sell Ibrahima Konaté as contract talks stall

Liverpool intend to listen to offers for centre-back Ibrahima Konaté this summer after failing to agree on a new contract, according to former Manchester United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown. Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, Brown revealed that manager Arne Slot is prepared to replace the 26-year-old if a transfer can be arranged.

Although Liverpool would prefer to tie the French international to a new deal, they will sell him this summer rather than risk losing him for free when his current contract expires next year.

This comes after Football Insider previously reported that Liverpool want to resolve Konaté’s future before his final 12 months.

The Reds are also moving ahead with their plan to sign Crystal Palace star Marc Guehi as a potential replacement. According to Brown, Slot is ready to give Guehi a starting role and Liverpool would be willing to pay around £50 million for the FA Cup winner.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have completed the signing of prolific Sporting CP striker Viktor Gyökeres for a reported €60 million release clause, beating Manchester United and Chelsea to his signature. The transfer will be paid in two instalm.
