Since his 2022 transfer from Benfica to Liverpool, Darwin Nunez has had an up-and-down spell at Anfield, showcasing flashes of brilliance but lacking consistency in front of goal. Although Saudi club Al-Nassr attempted to secure his services in January, Napoli are now reportedly leading the race to sign the striker in a deal worth around €50 million (£43m/$58m).
With Nunez’s departure looking likely, manager Arne Slot is keen to bolster his attacking options. According to Correio da Manha, Liverpool plan to rival Arsenal for Viktor Gyokeres and have already contacted intermediaries to determine the exact cost of signing the 26-year-old, who is protected by a €80 million (£68m/$93m) release clause.
