Liverpool Confirm New Contract and Loan Deal for Harvey Davies
Liverpool have confirmed that promising young goalkeeper Harvey Davies has signed a new contract and will spend the 2025/26 season on loan at Crawley Town.
The 20-year-old, a product of Liverpool’s Academy since the Under-9 level, is set to continue gaining first-team experience in League Two after an impressive campaign with Crewe Alexandra, where he made 32 appearances in all competitions.
Widely considered one of the top emerging talents in the club’s goalkeeping ranks, Davies was first called up to the senior squad for a Champions League clash against RB Leipzig in 2021. Since then, he has featured in 18 senior matchday squads and has consistently trained with the first team, enhancing his development.
His contract extension, previously reported by journalist James Pearce, underscores Liverpool’s belief in his long-term potential.
Strategic Loan to Support Growth and Value
The decision to loan Davies to Crawley Town serves a dual purpose: ensuring regular senior football to aid his progression, and securing his long-term value as a Liverpool asset.
“Harvey Davies has signed a new contract with Liverpool FC and joined Crawley Town on loan for the forthcoming season,” the club confirmed in an official statement.
This move comes amid a reshuffle in Liverpool’s goalkeeping department. Caoimhin Kelleher has completed a transfer to Brentford, and Hungarian prospect Armin Pecsi has joined as part of Liverpool’s goalkeeping succession plan. Meanwhile, Vitezslav Jaros has also departed on loan to Ajax, intensifying competition among the Reds’ next generation of shot-stoppers.
Davies’ upcoming season with Crawley represents a key step in his career, offering another year of consistent game time. If he continues on this trajectory, he could soon be in contention for a backup role at Anfield.
For now, Davies will aim to build on his momentum in a competitive environment—one where Crawley Town appears well-positioned to support his growth.
