Liverpool implement unique transfer tactic in pursuit of Marc Guehi

Liverpool are set to submit a firm, one-time £40 million bid for Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi, framing it as a definitive “take-it-or-leave-it” offer.

The 25-year-old England international, who has long been interested in a move to Anfield, is entering the final year of his contract and is open to the switch—despite competition from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcastle.

Guehi, known for his calm demeanor and professionalism, isn’t expected to push for the move himself, preferring to let the clubs handle negotiations.

Crystal Palace, who recently featured Guehi in their new kit reveal, are reportedly in need of funds to pursue reinforcements and have no interest in swap deals. Manager Oliver Glasner is aiming to bring in two central defenders, with Sporting’s Ousmane Diomande and Juventus’ Tiago Djalo among the names on his radar.

The club’s recent demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League—largely due to ownership complications—is also expected to add financial strain, increasing the likelihood of Guehi’s departure.
