After the defeat in the Club World Cup final… Al-Khelaifi takes serious action to sign the player preferred by Hansi Flick, and Laporta demands 80 million euros to allow the player to leave!

  1. Tensions Rise at Camp Nou as Fermín López Attracts Europe’s Elite

While Hansi Flick has begun preparations for the new season, anxiety is quietly mounting behind the scenes at FC Barcelona as growing interest surrounds one of their most promising talents. Once considered a “project for the future,” Fermín López is now a hot commodity among Europe’s biggest clubs — and Barça have yet to reach a firm decision about his future.

Outwardly, things appear calm at the club, but internally, there’s a rising awareness that keeping Fermín may prove more difficult than expected.

The 21-year-old midfielder has drawn serious attention from clubs like Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Manchester United, and Bayer Leverkusen, while Saudi Arabian sides are also circling. However, the biggest surprise has come from Paris Saint-Germain, where Luis Enrique has reportedly identified Fermín as a top priority for this summer’s window.

According to French and Spanish reports, Enrique is convinced that Fermín is the perfect fit for his midfield system, citing his off-the-ball intelligence, vertical movement, and high pressing ability as key traits. He’s even communicated to PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi that Fermín could be the final piece in PSG’s quest for European dominance.

Despite the growing outside pressure, Flick has made it clear to Barcelona’s board that Fermín is tactically essential to his plans and not a player he wants to lose.

However, the situation is complicated by Fermín’s own ambitions. With the 2026 World Cup approaching, he’s reportedly eager to secure a role that guarantees regular playing time in order to remain in Luis de la Fuente’s plans for Spain — making him realistic about the possibility of moving elsewhere.

Barcelona know the situation could escalate, particularly if Fermín formally asks to leave. Still, their stance remains firm: no negotiations unless the offer exceeds €80 million. With his contract running through 2030, the club sees no urgency to sell unless the price is “unreasonably high.”

While PSG are eager to open talks, the strained relationship between Joan Laporta and Al-Khelaifi, as well as Deco’s skepticism about dealing with the French club, may complicate negotiations.

Fermín now stands at a defining crossroads. Barcelona are holding tight, PSG are pressing hard, and the player is caught between the dream of starring at Camp Nou and the temptation of a fresh challenge in the Champions League.
