Could be offered to join Liverpool

Marcus Rashford’s future at Manchester United remains unclear, and reports suggest he has been proposed to Liverpool as a possible backup option to their primary target, Alexander Isak.

Liverpool have been actively chasing the Newcastle United striker, but the Magpies are standing their ground, insisting that Isak is not available for transfer—even though the player is reportedly open to a move.

With a move for Alexander Isak from St. James’ Park appearing increasingly unlikely, Liverpool have begun exploring alternative attacking options. These include Ollie Watkins, Yoane Wissa, Victor Osimhen, Hugo Ekitike, and Real Madrid’s Rodrygo.

Marcus Rashford has also been mentioned in these discussions, though negotiations have yet to make meaningful progress.

While Rashford is thought to favor a move to Barcelona, Turkish club Fenerbahce—managed by Jose Mourinho—has made a serious approach and is reportedly preparing a €40 million offer for the Manchester United forward.

Although a transfer to Liverpool is currently improbable, Rashford’s future remains a hot topic across Europe as uncertainty continues to surround his next move.

Meanwhile, David Ornstein has reported that Newcastle United are pursuing a €75 million deal to sign Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt. However, an agreement is still some way off, with talks ongoing. If completed, the deal would surpass Newcastle’s previous record signing—the €71.2 million they paid Real Sociedad for Alexander Isak in 2022.

While clubs like Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea have expressed interest in Ekitike, Newcastle’s negotiations appear to be the most advanced at this stage.
