According to Foot Mercato, United have now entered the race for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani—a player they’ve tracked for some time.
Kolo Muani, who joined PSG for £76.4 million from Eintracht Frankfurt in 2023, spent the latter half of last season on loan at Juventus, where he impressed with 13 goal contributions in 22 appearances. Juventus are keen to extend his stay, but United have reportedly made contact and are pushing to sign him.
From United’s perspective, a loan deal with an option to buy could be the ideal route, allowing them to evaluate how well the 26-year-old adapts to the Premier League’s pace and physicality.
Kolo Muani is considered a modern No. 9—intelligent with his movement, strong in link-up play, and mobile enough to drop deep or drift wide. Last season in Serie A, he posted an impressive 31% shot-to-goal conversion rate, highlighting his clinical nature in front of goal.
Though several Ligue 1 forwards have historically struggled in England, Kolo Muani is seen as a different breed. Germany legend Lothar Matthäus even dubbed him “ice-cold” for his composure in the final third.
If given the guarantee of regular minutes in Erik ten Hag’s lineup, Kolo Muani could be tempted to make the switch to Manchester—a move that would significantly strengthen United’s attacking options as they prepare for the 2025/26 season.
