Alejandro Garnacho has left a comment on Marcus Rashford’s announcement post after he was officially unveiled as a Barcelona player on Wednesday evening
Marcus Rashford Joins Barcelona on Loan from Manchester United
Marcus Rashford, a lifelong Manchester United fan and academy graduate, has completed a loan move to Barcelona after falling out of favor under new manager Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese coach had concerns over Rashford’s training performances, which led to his exclusion from the squad, including being dropped for the Manchester derby in December.
Rashford did not feature for United again and spent the second half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, where his form earned him a return to the England squad. However, his situation at United remained unchanged. He was stripped of the No.10 shirt and placed in a separate training group — dubbed the “bomb squad” — alongside Garnacho, Sancho, Antony, and Tyrell Malacia.
United struggled to offload Rashford permanently but eventually reached a loan agreement with Barcelona, which includes a £30.3 million purchase option. Barca will cover his full wages, now reduced after Rashford took a 25% pay cut, and face a €5 million penalty fee if they decide not to make the deal permanent — a clause similar to the one involving Sancho and Chelsea.
After passing his medical, Rashford met with Barça coach Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco, and the move was officially confirmed on Wednesday. The club announced on Instagram:
“FC Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan of Marcus Rashford until 30 June 2026. The agreement also includes an option to buy the English forward.”
Teammate Alejandro Garnacho commented on the post with excitement:
“Lets gooooo 🫡🫡”
Although there are concerns about registering Rashford immediately due to La Liga regulations, he is expected to join Barcelona’s pre-season tour of Asia, which includes games in Japan (vs Vissel Kobe) and South Korea (vs Daegu FC and FC Seoul).
