😡 Oriol Romeu Frustrated with Barcelona Over Preseason Snub
According to Diario Sport, midfielder Oriol Romeu is reportedly very upset with Barcelona after being excluded from the club’s preseason tour of Asia.
Romeu, who returned from a loan spell at Girona, had been training regularly with the first team and expected to be part of the squad for the tour. However, when Hansi Flick announced the traveling group, Romeu’s name was left out—alongside Marc-André ter Stegen (injured) and Pau Víctor (set to join Braga on loan).
The 32-year-old Spaniard is said to be disappointed with both the coach and the club, feeling that he deserved better treatment. Romeu reportedly believes Barcelona should have waited for him to secure a transfer before removing him from the squad, which he sees as an unnecessary exclusion.
Flick’s reasoning appears straightforward: Romeu is not part of his plans for the upcoming season, and thus there was no reason to take him on the tour and occupy a squad spot.
This decision casts further doubt on Romeu’s future at the club, with a permanent exit now looking likely before the transfer window closes
