Rashford’s Barcelona Debut Highlights Go Viral After Vissel Kobe Clash
A highlight reel of Marcus Rashford’s first outing in a Barcelona shirt has surfaced online, capturing the attention of fans.
After months of speculation, Rashford’s future was finally resolved this week as he completed a loan move from Manchester United to Barcelona for the 2025/26 season. The Spanish champions have the option to make the transfer permanent next summer.
The 27-year-old was officially presented by club president Joan Laporta on Wednesday. During his unveiling, Rashford expressed his excitement: “This is a club where dreams come true. They win big trophies, and what the club stands for really means something to me. It already feels like home — it’s a family club, and everyone feels comfortable here.”
Despite limited training time with his new teammates, Rashford made his debut on Sunday in a pre-season friendly against Vissel Kobe. Barcelona ran out 3-1 winners, with goals from Eric Garcia, Roony Bardghji, and Pedro Fernandez Sarmiento. Taisei Miyashiro scored the lone goal for the Japanese side.
Rashford came on for Raphinha at the start of the second half but was substituted again in the 78th minute. Despite the short appearance, some Barcelona fans were quick to praise his impact, noting he was “doing a lot of positive things.”
Shortly after the match, a video compilation showcasing Rashford’s contributions on the left flank began circulating widely on social media, with supporters encouraged by his lively and purposeful play.
However, it was evident that Rashford is still building an understanding with his new teammates, and it may take some time for him to fully adapt to Hansi Flick’s tactical approach. His performance showed signs of rust, which is understandable given it was his first appearance of the pre-season.
Barcelona are set to return to action next week with a friendly against FC Seoul in South Korea.
